Our Projects

VARSHA GAUTHAM and SWETA SHERVEGAR, India

Varsha has been a full-time sailor since the age of 13. Since then, under the guidance of Pete Conway, she was the first female Indian sailor to WIN an Asian Games medal, and the first Indian sailor to qualify for a medal race in an ISAF Olympic class World Championship. Now, the super team of Varsha and Sweta has been formed, undertaking an independent sailing campaign with WSA. This team will definitely be one to watch and, with WSA’s involvement and the all-round commitment from all parties, great things will happen!

EAST JAVA, Indonesia

We had a 6 month instant program preparing the team for the Pekan Olahraga National (PON) Games, as well as their 470 Women selections for the 2018 Asian Games.

Our program yielded 7 MEDALS at the PON Games – 6 BRONZE and 1 SILVER. Their previous best was 3 medals, no golds. We also successfully achieved their goal of winning the selections for the 470 Women.

YILAN COUNTY, Taiwan

Our program here started in July 2017, by the end of September the team had won 5 out of 6 GOLDS at the Taiwan National Games. Previously they had won a maximum of 3. As well as this, a BRONZE medal was achieved in the Shanghai Optimist Regatta.

OMER GOLANI, Israel

WSA have been involved in Omer Golani’s sailing since he started Laser sailing in 2013. Since TopLevel Sailing have been involved, he has achieved several top 10 results at Europa Cups, both in Laser 4.7 and Laser Radial. He placed 19th at the Laser Radial Youth Europeans in 2016, and 16th at the ISAF Youth Worlds in 2016. His major achievement is a BRONZE at the 2017 Under 19 Youth Europeans in the Laser Full Rig (this is the FIRST EVER medal in the Laser Full Rig class for his country).

HAPOEL TEL-AVIV SAILING CLUB, Israel

For the past year, TopLevel Sailing have run two Coach Training courses, with continuous support in-between and since. This has significantly improved the club’s results in both internal and external events as their coaching abilities have been greatly improved. Their testimonial to this service can be read in our Testimonials page.

JACQUELINE TRUHOL, Hong Kong

We coached Jackie for 3 months, and within this very short time she became the top Hong Kong sailor, after previously being ranked 4th.

NEEL ANAND, India

We coached Neel for a few weeks in 2016. He previously ranked the 6th Optimist sailor in India. We prepared him for the India International Regatta, where he placed 6th, and 1st Indian by a long lead.

CHARLES CAMPION, Great Britain

We are currently working with Charles Campion, on the basis of every now and then for a few weeks. He is constantly improving, and we are always available for support. He has already advanced to being a top 10 sailor in his age group under our guidance.

ANYA HAJI-MICHAEL, Great Britain

TopLevel Sailing coached Anya for some months during 2016, where she excelled from being unknown to ranking the 2nd Brit in Youth Radials, and finished 20th at the 2016 Youth Europeans. Her federation no longer allows non-RYA coaching.

PIA KUHLMAN, Germany

We coached Pia during 2016. After a few weeks of technical work she finished FIRST German at the Princess Sofia Regatta in Palma, and is consistently top 3 German at any event. She has also won medals at Europa Cups since working with WSA.

KARYNA MANUEL, Great Britain

During 2015, we coached Karyna in the Laser Radial to become the top British Youth Sailor. She won medals at Europa Cups, finished 16th at the Youth Europeans, and 12th at the Youth Worlds. Karyna is a small and light sailor, and by adopting the correct techniques she consistently achieved the speed of top ten sailor in strong winds as well as in light to medium winds. Later she switched to the 49erFX and spent a few weeks with us, but suffered injuries (not through sailing) and is now in recovery.
